Hello and welcome to Blaise Primary and Nursery School. |
Our school was opened in 1952 as separate infant and junior schools. An amalgamation of these schools in the 1980s resulted in the single all through nursery and primary school that we hold dear today.
At Blaise, we cater for children aged 3 – 11 with a two form entry. This capacity brings about vast benefits. The school building is spacious and set on two levels. We are extremely fortunate to have a gymnasium, main hall, dining hall, computer suite and library. These facilities are complimented by our extensive grounds, which not only create a beautiful and natural environment, but provide a range of areas and opportunities for outdoor learning… and lots of fun!
We recognise and value all pupils as unique individuals, and strive to inspire and challenge pupil learning in a way that allows all children to develop and flourish. We place great importance in providing an environment and curriculum which engages pupil’s interests and abilities.
It is extremely important that strong and effective links are manifest between the school, parents, and the local area. Such links are invaluable in placing our children, their learning and well being at the heart of their community.
As a school we endeavour to raise aspirations, promote life long learning and equip pupils with the necessary skills and experience to prepare them for the world in which they will live and work. We are fully committed to the Every Child Matters agenda, the 5 key areas of which are:
- be healthy
- stay safe
- enjoy and achieve
- make a positive contribution
- achieve economic well-being.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school in the future!
